Revolution is discussing Kierkegaard and we’d love all the participation we can get! I think this would be a great way to get the cohort back together…even (especially) if you know nothing about Kierkegaard or philosophy at all for that matter.
Where: Kevin Mabry’s Carriage House 704 W. Mountain Ave. in Fort Collins
accessed by walking back through the driveway gate to the back yard. Continue along the driveway to the garage and take the steps up to the carriage house.
What: Lunch served | Children welcome! (children can stay with the adults or move into the main house after lunch with our amazing, caring children’s ministers).
Revolution is an open, inclusive, safe space for reflection, contemplation, meditation, worship, fellowship, prayer and communion (and knowing the Revolution, more irreverent laughter than you’d think possible)

Dr. Paul W. Chilcote, who is professor of historical theology at Ashland Theological Seminary in Ohio will be presenting a talk on the links between early Methodism and the Emergent movement on Saturday, March 7, at 10:15 a.m., at First UMC, 1005 Stover Street (at Elizabeth) in Fort Collins.

The cohort is “sort of” inactive right now but still active.
Confusing? hehe. Basically, most of the cohort “members” come to Revolution on Sundays at 12:30. Revolution is a faith community that serves for some as their regular church and for others as an extension of their Sunday morning church experience. We have lunch, read the lectionary passages, discuss, pray and have communion.
Anyone is welcome to join us any time. Visit http://www.thenakedchurch.net for details.
If you are interested in engaging in the Cohort in a different capacity, please let me know. The only thing that’s keeping us from gathering regularly for the Cohort is a lack of interest. But if interest picks up, we’ll start meeting again. In the mean time, we do still occasionally connect with other cohorts, go to conferences and book signings and meet for coffee/lunch with like minded Christians so if you’re interested in being informed, email me at makeesha@gmail.com and I’ll add you to the list.
I would love our interfaith connections to increase but just don’t have the bandwidth right now to manage that myself…again, if you’re interested, contact me!
Peace
Makeesha

Hey all, hope you are well. I would love to see anyone who can make it this Sat. at 10:30 at Mugs.
Also, we’re going to try combining the cohort and the undercroft for the summer and see how it goes. It will be a bit free form. For those who want to discuss a book or whatever, you’re free to do that or you can just hang out and get to know people or you can bring a topic you’d like to discuss. I think it will be fun
Not much will change except that the ethos of the undercroft being a generous and open space for those of all faiths (and no faiths) will be emphasized.
So from now on (or for now), the cohort will be called the undercroft for simplicity sake, our website will be theundercroft.com, we’ll be meeting the first and third sat. each month at the lyric cinema cafe (unless otherwise notified) and emails will go out to the combined group. Most of you already participate in the Undercroft so this won’t be a big change.
I think this will be a good thing and give us all a chance to get to know each other better without adding another thing to our schedules.

I want to apologize for being a slacker lately with the cohort. Just lots on my plate.
I’m going to end the McLaren discussion just to keep us moving. Obviously you’re more than welcome to organize something yourself to finish it off if you’d like.
So, let’s start talking about the Rollins book – How (not) to Speak of God.
Sat. May 24
10:30am
Mugs on College and Olive
I’d like to create a meeting schedule and have some of you host the discussions as well. So be ready with your calendars. Please let me know if you can’t be there, however, as long as we have at least 1 person I’ll be there.
Also, I think we could bring some of the broader themes of the book into our undercroft gatherings. So throw out some ideas as they come to you while you read.
Thanks everyone

Ok y’all, I have officially lost my mind. Last night I realized that we are just over half way through Everything Must Change, I don’t know what I was thinking. So let’s keep going with the book because we’re into some really good stuff right now and I don’t want to cut us short. We also have a new person joining us – welcome Roger
and with new perspective will come new conversations.
So for anyone who has been missing these discussions and wants to meet more cohort folks, please come – we discuss so much more than the book and have been getting into some really neat challenging conversations that I’m sure you would enjoy. I think I’m going to mix it up this time and have us gather on a Saturday at brunch time.
So let’s try Mugs in Old Town (College and Olive) Mar 29 at 10:30 downstairs. Be flexible, if it’s too busy we might move but we’ll start there. Let’s be wild and crazy and adventurous! LOL
March 17, 2008
Our final book discussion is this Wed. at 6pm – location TBA (probably Melissa’s apartment in Old Town). This discussion will wrap up the book and allow some discussion in a broader scope. After this I’d like to have an “open house” dinner of sorts to allow other cohort folks to get acquainted – I know it’s hard to jump in the middle of a book discussion – so be thinking about options for that. If you are on this email list, live locally and want to be involved, please try to make it to that dinner event.
Then in a few weeks we’ll start a discussion about Pete Rollins’ “How (not) to Speak of God” unless there is consensus about wanting to do something else.
I also wanted to alert you to a few items of interest.
